I do think it's the upper one, where k would be 5/12 in a "y = kx +d". I am not 100% sure though, 'cause I never used or heard this terminology before. I just read this[1] wikipedia-article that makes me believe, it's the above mentioned one.. 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_%28slope%29
