Find the values of x and y?

@theEric
I see!
This one's really confusing!
Well, x I'm sure you have a hold of ;)
x is 112?
or ahh idk (/.\) im sorry lol D:
Not quite! Haha, it's cool. Learning is hard and it stinks sometimes (because you get stuff wrong) but that's learning.
Think bigger, first. Specifically angles! What we learned last problem is similar, actually. I won't say it outright. Might help your memory if I hold my tongue.
Its the same on both sides? So 7x + 7 has to equal the same as the other side
Exactly! That 112 there. So that's a good place to start.
So 112 minus 7 is 15, since we're going to have to add seven, so it's 15 times whatever plus 7 is 112?
seven times* ahh i confused myself nevermind .-.
I didn't quite follow, sorry! I got a little lost. I'll fix your typo quick :P 112-7=105! Unles your zero key is broken. That would stink.
It's tough! I told you! I find it tough! That's why I try to help when I can. I know it stinks.
Yes forgot the zero haha. So x is 15. How do i find y?
y would be 17?
:P
Yeah, I think x is 15, too! Not y, though!
y is 17 :P
No! Y is right! why'd I say no! I'm dumb!
Haha, I calculated the same thing and said no. I look at y= and thought I saw something else.
So yeah, you're right. :) Congrats!
Not dumb if you figured this out cause I couldn't! lol. so y is 17 then, right? its x = 15 and y = 17 for the answer?
Yeah, those are the answers I got. Thanks! But you DID figure out y.
ok ^.^ thanks for helping me! I also have a proof I can't seem to solve if you can help with that too if it doesnt take too much of your time o.o
Nope! I'm not too busy. Proofs aren't my specialty, but I might be able to help! You can tag me again!
This one probably isn't too hard, I'm probably just overthinking it, it wants me to identify the property that comes with the step so I'll just draw it :P
Okay! Hopefully I know the properties.... Can I make some up? :P
|dw:1355285881267:dw|
the fraction didn't work!! lol oops ._. it's x/6. and i can name them
It's either a. given b. multiplication property of equality or d. addition property of equality for the step x/6 + 2 = 15 -> x = 78
c not d. ahh i cannot type.
Okay.. hmm.. Only one stetp to get there? I would take a couple or more. I would subtract two from both sides and the multiply both sides by 6. But also solve. So maybe these properties are more in-depth than I'd think. Or can you use more tha one? Haha! Small typo.
nope you just answered it! it was multiplication haha yeah i typed it confusing im sorry
thanks for helping ! :P
Oh, okay! :) Well, we got it right!
Yep!
My pleasure! Take care!
You too!
Thank you!
