**Math Riddle** (for those who are bored) Using only two 2's and any combination of mathematical signs, can you make the solution 5?

OpenStudy (raden):

2^2 + 2^0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You used three 2's, incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm.... i kept trying but i couldn't find anything lawlz :P but I'm interested to hear the answer :) and learn why!! haha :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i did 2 /2 + 2 +2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats only think i can think of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but u can only use two 2's right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Again you are only allowed to use two 2's :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i feel like u need to like square something and then get the square root of it lol.. just a guess, but idk how to!! ugh so frustrating :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hint: a decimal point is allowed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg i was about to ask that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so yeahhh I'm out of guesses and ideas... and yeah @ChmE i was thinking of like a decimal... I'm thinking like .2 will be used... but i have like noooo idea :P cuz 2 x 2 won't work nor will anything else like as simple as that :/ hard riddle u got there :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.2^-2 = 25 ...sqrt that and you have 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to think outside the box

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm that looks right to me! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Spectrum got it!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{.2^{-2}}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice job @Spectrum!! this was quite a confusing little riddle lol :P thanks for posting it @ChmE :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was at first htinking about just - + x / but then i saw the only 2 twos . so i was figuring must have more than just that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

decimel hint did it i wasn't sure if you could use it or not medal to chme :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was really good brain teaser

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have another one, less math involved. It was posted on here a while ago and I tweaked it a bit so it would be easier to understand. Do you feel like another?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eh sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im waiting on help with my question

OpenStudy (anonymous):
