HELP ME PLEASEE, based on the given information, what can you conclude, and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two triangular are similar triangular KJL and JHI because <h=<l HJ=JL and <J1=J2

OpenStudy (icalibear):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant understand what do you mean?

OpenStudy (icalibear):

@phi can you help me

OpenStudy (phi):

First, mark what "parts" (angles or sides) are congruent based on the info they gave you.

OpenStudy (phi):

can you do that?

OpenStudy (icalibear):

Yes sorry computer crashed. |dw:1355519602786:dw|

OpenStudy (icalibear):

OpenStudy (icalibear):

help???

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, you have the correct angles but I can't tell which sides are marked. Just put a little hash mark through the 2 sides that are congruent.

OpenStudy (icalibear):

ok

OpenStudy (icalibear):

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, looks good. you have angle-side (so far) to prove congruence we could try for side-angle-side (that means show side HI= side LK) or angle-side-angle (show the angles at J are =) take a peak at this http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/vertical-angles.html

OpenStudy (icalibear):

so basically ^HIJ and ^LKJ are congruent by ASA?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, the angles at J are "vertical angles" btw, this require that line IJL is a straight line (like in .jpg image. The way you drew it, it does not look straight...) but, you have angle-side-angle

OpenStudy (icalibear):

Its hard to draw on here sorry but ok, and its the symbol is |dw:1355520575303:dw| not |dw:1355520610818:dw| wwhen naming the angles?

OpenStudy (icalibear):

o:

OpenStudy (icalibear):

or its just a typo on the paper idk are those even symbols

OpenStudy (icalibear):

yes nevermind XD thanks for helping again o;

OpenStudy (phi):

The symbol of angle is ∠ sort of a L shape a closed triangle symbol △ means triangle In both cases they give the vertices (corners). For the angle, the middle letter is the "corner" of the angle

OpenStudy (icalibear):

ok. i think its just a paper typo.
