OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the formula circumference=2(pi)(radius)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue what that is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the tire is a circle, n the formula for circumference of a circle is 2(pi)(radius) where pi=3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont get what you are saying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

circumference of a circle is the length around it. the total length of the outer boundary of the circle is given to you i.e. 84.78 inches and now you have to find the radius of this tire(the circle). And for that you have that formula of circumference. Do you know what radius is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

radius is a line segment from the center of a circle to the bpundary of that circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have me lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

boundary*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

still have no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this picture can help you with what, circumference and radius are.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the value of circumference is given to you in the question. the value of pi is 3.14 put the values in the formula and you will get the value of the radius.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

84.78=2(3.14)(radius) 84.78=(6.28)(radius) radius=84.78/6/28 radius=13.5 inches

thanks you...
