Napoleon's army went into Russia in the middle of winter without the proper knowledge and resources for surviving that harsh barren climate. They also came in bright colors, making them easier targets against the snow. They ran out of food, had poor shelter, and got frostbite. When the Russians closed in at Waterloo, they were sickly and famished, so it was an easy kill.

That's a great answer! The only thing I would change is the part about Waterloo. That happened several years after Napoleon's Grand Armee was frozen and cut apart by the Russians. Waterloo was his defeat after returning to France from exile. In that battle, Duke Wellington led a coalition to victory over Napoleon, defeating him for the final time.
