How do you interpret the value of the correlation between the x-axis and y-axis. r and r^2 are both given...do I look at that?

x^2+y^2=r^2

cartesian to polar

r is known as the coefficient of correlation- the closer it is to 1, the stronger the positive correlation. The closer it is to -1, the stronger the negative correlation is. if the value is close to 0, there is likely no correlation.
