Because water molecules are polar and carbon dioxide molecules are nonpolar, how will their boiling points differ and why?

at room temperature carbon dioxide is a gas, and water is a liquid, other polar things such as sugar are solid, and other non polar things like oil are liquid, so it all has to do with that the molecule is, as opposed to polarity
