So I was just curious, who do you think life would be like without plants?
we wouldnt't survive. By photosynthesis, they take in CO2 and release O2. We would become aphixiated with the carbon rich enviroment and die
It wouldn't be the same. @cpm1210 you are incorrect, photosynthetic bacteria actually are responsible for the majority of O2 produced p CO2 on the planet, and are actually what produced the oxygen rich atmosphere to begin with. Although, without plants we wouldn't have such an abundance of fossil fuels (specifically coal) and we would have an atmosphere very rich with carbon dioxide as early plants developed lignin which no organisms could break apart apart at the time (eventually a fungus developed the ability to break lignin down). This resulted in plant biomass building up and a large amount of carbon being removed from the atmosphere. The world would be a strange place without plants, but life would go on, microorganisms are the major biomass of this planet and they always will be.
This isn't really a question that can be answered, it is safe to say we wouldn't exist without plants though.
