What are the zeroes of the function? What are their multiplicities? f(x) = x^4 – 4x^3 + 3x^2

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Factor the function first. Can you do this?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

take out the GCF which is x^2

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

That's part one. you'll get f(x)=x^2(x^2-4x+3) you can still factor what's inside there - it's an easy problem - can you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^2(x^2-4x+3) right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and no im not sure how to factor whats inside there

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Do you know the quadratic formula or completing the square? Either works.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the quadratic formula

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

okay solve x^2-4x+3=0
