Distilled water is devoid of any solutes. It contains no additional gases, minerals, or contaminants. Would it be right to give a person an IV (intravenous) therapy of distilled water?

Yes it would because im assuming the person has an IV for the fact that they can't eat. The IV goes straight into the bloodstream so it has to be free from anything so the cells can use the water efficiently enough to carry out its processes.

no ur body contains dissolved minerals like sodium poassium etc.....giving distilled water would be very painfull and osmosis would draw solutes into blood vessels from body depleting the homeostatic mechanisms. so something like .9% normal saline ,,ringer lactate etc are used...if person has lost blood blood transfusion is given....isoosmotic solution to plasma is used not distilled water
