what is the multiplicative inverse of -1/9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you multiply a number by its multiplicative inverse the answer is 1.

This is way easier than it sounds. A multiplicative inverse, or just known as an inverse, is the other number where both numbers, when multiplied, yield 1. Some examples: 3 and 1/3 2 and 1/2 To find the inverse of just a plain ol' number, 1/x where x = the # is the way to go. If you're dealing with a fraction, take the 1/ part off. It's pretty simple. Negatives have neg inverses, because 2 negs = a posiitve (1 is positive). So now, you tell me, what is the inverse of -1/9?

*I should note that if the fraction is 1/something. If not, then don't do that!!!! If it's 2/9, you flip the fraction upside down, so its inverse would be 9/2

-9?

yep! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay. thank you so much :)
