Find the rate of change for the graph. How did you find the rate of change?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mrdoe):

rise/run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what does that mean?

OpenStudy (mrdoe):

change in y/change in x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from your eyeballs right three units, up 25 units slope is \(\frac{25}{3}\)

OpenStudy (mrdoe):

\[\frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-x1 }\] is the formula we use, just plug known points. Usually we use the origin (0,0) and a point along the line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I'm new to this site. I'm sorry. So, what am I supposed to write?

OpenStudy (mrdoe):

from the pic, the line hits y=25 at x=3, so \[\frac{ 25-0 }{ 3-0} = 25/3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright.. I think I get it. Thank you
