How do you convert \[\left( 5 \sqrt{2}, -5\sqrt{2} \right)\] to polar coordinates?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Form a right triangle with these values being the short sides. You can then use trigonometry to calculate the angle. And calculate the hypotenuse to get the r. So you'll get the length and the angle of the polar coordinates.

OpenStudy (jennychan12):

from rectangular to polar: (x,y) ----> arctan(y/x)
