the system ask us to download phyton version 2.5.4, but it is not been offered, like the versions are 2.7 and on. Any ideas?

Go ahead and get version 2.7. It's completely backward compatible, so you'll have no problems writing the same code in the newer version. In fact, it's likely to be more stable and slightly more performant than 2.5.4. Just make sure it's a 2.X version, not a 3.X!

It doesn't have anything to do with stability--not an operating system. python.org has links to previous versions.

Uh, yes it does. Anything with a single line of code is capable of instability. If it crashes, does something funky, etc. That's called being unstable. OS has NOTHING to do with it.

IDLE comes as part of the 2.x release of python. Assuming you stay within that version, it shouldn't matter what release it is. Generally speaking it's best to use the latest release of what ever version you're working with, in this case 2.7.3
