At first I thought this was just about substituting for x. However, that isn't the case for c) and e) for example - substituting 0 for x does not give the correct answer. Can someone explain what is the correct method to solve these type of questions? Thanks!

Ah, think I got it. Basically you just assume that x never reaches 0 so that you have a non-zero number divided by a non-zero number which makes the coefficient of the expression, one. whoo
