Find the length of the hypotenuse. Use the Pythagorean Theorum. This is a right triangle and the two sides are √ 3 and 2√ 3. So far I have this and I am pretty sure it is not right. a^2 +b^2 =C^2 3^2+(2^2)(√ 3^2)=c^2 9+(2√ 3)(2√ 3)=c^2 9+(4)(3)=c^2 9+12)=c^2 c^2=21 c=√ 21

You are very close. The only thing you did wrong was more like a typo, because you got the harder part right (b). For (a) you did 3^2 when I know you wanted to do [sqrt(3)]^2. If you make that correction, you will get the sqrt(15). You obviously understand the concepts well. Just be a little more careful on the steps. Go a little slower and you'll be fine.

An easy way to see if I'm online is to do a "fan" of someone. Then you are automatically notified.

He doesn't just give answers. He takes time to explain, and that's the way Openstudy is supposed to be run. I try to pick up tutoring tips from him.
