Some snake venoms are harmful because they contain enzymes that increase the rate of a reaction that destroys blood cells and tissue cells. The damage caused by such a snakebite could best be slowed down by A. applying ice to the bite area in order to decrease the temperature of the cells B. inducing vomiting in order to remove all of the stomach content C. drinking large amounts of water in order to hydrate the cells D. elevating the bite area in order to increase the number of blood cells present

OpenStudy (aaronq):

increase the rate of a reaction is key to answering this question. what affects the rate of a reaction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

body heat so if you would ice it, it would slow your blood flow?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it wouldn't slow your blood flow, it would slow down the rate at which the enzymes catalyze whatever reactions destroy blood cells and tissue.
