How does mRNA differ from DNA?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

The D in DNA and R in RNA is one diffrence and they are both sugars, then there is a nitrogenous base that have been replaced by another one. When it come to 3d form then there is also a diffrence becuase mRNA don't base pair with it self. Out from that try answer the following: DNA RNA Sugar: _________ _________ nitrogenous base: ___________ _________ three-dimensional structure: __________ __________

OpenStudy (koikkara):

watz mRNA ?....need 2 knw as ref....

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Messenger RNA.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

else take a look here

OpenStudy (koikkara):

alright...so, mRNA is single stranded, DNA is double stranded. mRNA has the sugar ribose, DNA has the sugar deoxyribose. mRNA has the nitrogen base Uracil instead of Thymine that DNA has. mRNA leaves the nucleus, DNA does not (assuming the cell has a nucleus)...... we studied messenger RNA itself....so didn`t recognise......this much only...i do remember...

OpenStudy (aaronq):

don't forget about the 7-methylguanosine cap at the 5' end, and the PolyAdenine-Tail at the 3' end

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Okay I did not give a thought about that.
