Could someone help me out on this Geometry problem please? :)

OpenStudy (goten77):

i would start with cross multiplying

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

\[\dfrac{x+1}{x+3}=\dfrac{15}{21}\]By cross-multiplication. we have,\[21(x+1)=15(x+3)\]\[21x+21=15x+45\]solve for \(x\) now :)

OpenStudy (goten77):

one other helpful tip is.... *since your given multiple choice* if you ever dont know what to do just plug them in until 1 works....dont reilly on multiple choice but its best to take advantage of it while you can

OpenStudy (amoodarya):

first siplify the right side then multiply and solve for x but for more guidence look at this image if you dont understand
