PLEEEEASE. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

line l containts the points A(K+9, -4k-3) and B(-2,1) and has a y-intercept of 9. Find the value of k, the equation of the line L, and the coordiantes A

OpenStudy (aravindg):

ok do you slope intercept form @Ferrariwindows7 ?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

you have point (-2,1) and y intercept so u can easily find slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no im 9. So can you just give me the answer? :/

OpenStudy (aravindg):

when you get the slope use definition of slope to get k \[\large slope =\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\]

OpenStudy (aravindg):

slope intercept form is \[\large y=mx+c\] where m is slope and c is y intercept

OpenStudy (aravindg):

try to use the hints i gave and get to the solution : )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope is \[\frac{-4k-4}{k+11}\] equation is \[y=\frac{-4k-4}{k+11}(x+2)+1\]y intercept is what you get when \(x=0\) replace \(x\) by \(0\) and set all this much equal to 9, solve for \(k\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first step is \[\frac{-8k-8}{k+11}+1=9\] second step is \[\frac{-8k-8}{k+11}=8\] third step \[-8k-8=8(k+11)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide by 8 and get \[-k-1=k+11\] and you should be good from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -16k=96. K=-6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the equation of the line is y=4x+9
