Multiply eq(2) by 2 and subtract Eq(1) and (2)

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Well multiply 2nd equation by 2 and subtract both the equations, you will get equation containing only y. then solve for y .when you get y put its value in any of the equations to get x :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, must be solved with the Substitution method. :) Multiplying by 2, then subtracting them, that is the addition method, correct?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

well i would call that elemination method

OpenStudy (hba):

That is elimination @TsunamiGirl
