What is the slope of the line that contains the points (-2, 1) and (0, -3)?

OpenStudy (hba):

The formula of slope is, \[m=\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 }\]

so what do i do

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

So, take x1=-2, y1=1, x2=0,y2=-3 and plug them into the formula.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

It doesn't matter which point you choose to be x1,y1 and x2, y2, you just have to be consistent so that x1 and y1 are from the same point!
