A plant has to produce carbohydrates because

OpenStudy (anonymous):

carbohydrates are needed to move ATP from cell to cell. carbohydrates are needed for building material. carbohydrates store the genetic material within the cells. carbohydrates store energy for a long time

OpenStudy (matt101):

B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you explain why please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@matt101

OpenStudy (aaronq):

because plant cell walls are made of cellulose (which are carbohydrates)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

carbohydrates are needed to move ATP from cell to cell. - not transport molecules carbohydrates store the genetic material within the cells. - this is DNA carbohydrates store energy for a long time. - Carbohydrates are turned into starch in plants (glycogen in animals) for long term storage

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so which one can scratch out

OpenStudy (aaronq):

all of them, except B, carbohydrates are used for building blocks since the plant has no other way of acquiring carbohydrates

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it must produce them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry @matt101 but @aaronq got the meadal because she/he explain it way better
