solve 3√x-2+7=28

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Is that actually \[3\sqrt{x-2}+7 = 28\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's inside the square root?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what the problem is

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

In any case, the route is the same: move everything outside of the radical to the other side, square both sides, solve for x.

OpenStudy (phoenixfire):

Yeah, what's inside the root. and is it 3 * the root, or is it the cubed root?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The equation button is pretty to use, and it saves a lot of wasted time if you show the problem correctly, hint hint :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-2+7=28 is in the square root

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Putting the equals sign inside the square root doesn't make any sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thats what it is on my exam
