A paradox is self-contradictory to each other.
So what ever it states can't be proven true or false.
One good example is What comes first the chicken or the egg?
This is a paradox since it's impossible to know.

A clearer paradox is "you have to be cruel to be kind."  It seems like an absurd statement, but in reality expresses a truth that we all understand.  Don't hesitate to call your teacher--we are here to help!
