Find the coefficient of the term indicated in the following expansion; (2+x)^8, x^5 I know what the answer is but could anyone tell me how to get it?

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

The coefficient for any term is the non-variable part of the term (i.e the number). For example, 7x^2y^5's coefficient is 7.

Okay, but how do I get to that without writing all the terms out and just using x^5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know binomial.....

@Matt71

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

For terms that has no numbers leading it, the coefficient is 1 (1x^5)
