you cannot solve an expression ,only find its value at a particular 'x' and 'y'.
did you mean 2y = 4x+8 ??
and need to find the value of y for x= -2,1,3 ??

6y+2x=10 and if you wanted to divide entire equation by 2, you would get , (6/2)y + (2/2)x =10/2
which is 3y+x=5 , an equation.
so what do u get for 2y+4x=8 ?
