Solve: 2(x + 2) − (x + 1) = 8

Multiply(distribute) the 2 into each term contained in the first set of brackets. \[\large 2x+4-(x+1)=8\]Then, distribute the negative to each term in the second set of brackets,\[\large 2x+4-x-1=8\] Then combine like terms! :)
