I still can't seem to figure it out though. i know the midpoint..

@jollysailorbold

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, the formula for the midpoint is (x1+x2)/2,(y1+y2)/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, P is at (-2,8) or (x1,y2) and Q is at (8,-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Q is (x2,y2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the concept for the midpoint is that you are averaging the x values and the y values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says find the midpoint of PQ. and the choices i have arent what you said..lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is (3,2) a choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, I found that using the midpoint formula as follows. P(-2,8) Q(8,-4) (x1+x2)/2 = (-2 + 8)/2 = 3 (y1+y2)/2 = (8 + -4)/2 = -2 so the midpoint is (3,-2)
