You do what my teachers call the "diamond method". |dw:1358831985114:dw|Standard form of this equation would be ax^2 + bx + c. First you multiply the number before the a^2 (which in this case is 1) by tc which is 30. Then you try to find what two numbers multiplied make 30 and added make 11. Your answer would then be 5 and 6. If the question asked for factored form then you would leave your answer as (a+5)(a+6) but if didn't and asked for your solution then your answer would be the OPPOSITE of those two numbers : a= -5, a= -6
