I'm having a hard time explaining this. HELP PLEASE! I promise to give a medal and to fan. This political cartoon appeared in Harper’s Weekly on March 25, 1882. Whom do the two men seated at the table represent? What does this cartoon suggest about American attitudes toward immigration in the late 1800s? How do you know this? -picture attached-
Whom do the two men seated at the table represent? One represent a colonist the other is an immigrant. (Probably Irish) What does this cartoon suggest about American attitudes toward immigration in the late 1800s? It shows that Americans/Colonist disliked people who immigrated to the US. How do you know this? It shows it, and even says it no more Chinese labors for the next twenty years? Also it looks like the Colonist is ignoring the immigrant. And in the picture they make the immigrant look like a foolish man. While the colonist looks well endowed.
ohhhh I get it! Thank you so much!
No problem :D
