Divide. (25x2 – 40x + 18) ÷ (5x – 3) (1 point) 5x-5-3/5x-3 5x-8-18/5x-3 5x-5+3/5x-3 5x-14

mulitpication and division from the left to right progression

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I don't see how it will turn into fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well for such a division to give you a polynomial that must mean (5x-3) is a cofactor, that is 3/5 must also be a root of (25x2 – 40x + 18), but it is not. so you get: 5x-5+3/(5x-3) as your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's a division of polynomials with remainder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay it kind of makes sense. I just havent dealt with this stuff in awhile.
