1. Determine if the relation is a function. {(0, 1), (2, 1), (3, 2), (4, 2)} (Points : 1) Function Not a Function 2. Determine if the relation is a function. x -1 2 2 5 y 3 4 5 6 (Points : 1) Function Not a Function
for a relation to be a function for each two elements of it: ex (a,b) (c,d), a must not be equal to c, that is you can't have (a,b) and (a,d) both in the relation(if b=d then (a,b) and (a,d) are equal and they are just one element)
so basically what marks a function is that for each element of a set A it gives element of a set B, it can't give you two different elements ex. you can't have f(a)=b and f(a)=c at the same time unless b=c
you can try plotting the points on your own made graph and use the vertical line test to see if a horizontal hits the plotted points line more than once. If it does the relation is not a function
well, learning what a function, a set, and a relation is, is much better than plotting graphs, it will simplify your life if you're going to learn math.
that is true, but it was just a suggestion lol but go the harder way, you'll learn more.
