who is dr samuel wiess, his contributions to science and the impact of his descovery today.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Why don't you just look it up? He was a educated biochemist known for finding the metabotropic glutamate receptor. The receptor is used in neurology, so I guess it have contributed helping to understand nerve signaling and neurological disorders.

any more info?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understnd what wikipedia is on about

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Read here then: http://www.cell.ucalgary.ca/s_weiss.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the link

OpenStudy (frostbite):

When you say you don't get it, do you then mean you don't understand it or what?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Is it becuase you don't know what the metabotropic glutamate receptor is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ermm no i just whant to know SIMPLY what he did and the impacts today

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i dont know what a metabotropic receptor is

OpenStudy (frostbite):

I don't know HOW he found the receptor, only that he did. And the impacts on today is, as I said, it gives opportunity to do research in nerve sigaling.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ermm ok thanks

OpenStudy (frostbite):

oh yea and a metabotropic receptor is a receptor that starts a metabolic pathway :) typicaly by G-coupled proteins (kind of a energy protein) linked to the receptor ;)
