@abb0t is entirely correct. Observe what happens when multiplying by \(\frac{1-\cos x}{1-\cos x}\):$$\int\frac{1}{1+\cos x}\times\frac{1-\cos x}{1-\cos x}dx\\=\int\frac{1-\cos x}{1-\cos^2x}dx$$Now, do you remember your trigonometric identities. Hint: think Pythagoras.
