This is for trigonometry. A searchlight rotates through one complete revolution every 4 seconds. How long does it take the light to rotate through 90 degrees? Please help me set up and solve the problem. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One complete revolution corresponds to \(360^\circ\) and takes \(4\) seconds. Knowing that \(90^\circ\) is a fourth of a complete revolution, and assuming a constant rate, how many seconds do you think it'll take to rotate \(90^\circ\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am still confuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the answer; it takes 1 second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't get how I would write it on my homework

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure; that problem is pretty straightforward.|dw:1359323948276:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so everytime it rotates it is just rotation 1 second right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Each time it rotates \(90^\circ\) it takes 1 second.
