Slope = Rise/Run = \[(y_{2}-y_{1})/(x_{2}-x_{1}) \]\[(1.5-2)/(3-1) =(-0.5)/(2) = -1/4 \]

Slope here represents the flow rate of water in liters per hour Slope is negative it means that water is flowing backwards when compared to the reference direction.
