What happens as a result of an increase in the intensity of a sound wave? -the frequency of a soundwave increases -the velocity of the sound wave decreases -the energy of the soundwave increases -the amplitude of the soundwave decreases

i thinnk its c

OpenStudy (solomonium):

Intensity is proportional to amplitude squared \[Intensity \alpha amplitude^{2}\]. So since the intensity increases we can say that the amplitude must increase too. As intensity is power per unit area per unit time, we say as I increases then A increases; so the kinetic energy must increase too. As the kinetic energy increases by a factor of x then the velocity increases by \[x\]. So the The frequency of the wave is unchanged since the period remains the same and the velocity should increase too. Since the only feasible answer is energy increases.

OpenStudy (solomonium):

I meant to say as KE increases by x the v increases by v^2
