@InYourHead So I was wondering if you could check these for me please?
Answer the following questions about the location of these places in your own town with respect to your own house. The first one is done for you. Follow the structure in sentence one.
1. プールは　どこに　ありますか。
2. がっこうは　どこに　ありますか。
3. スーパーは　どこに　ありますか。
4. パンやは　どこに　ありますか。
5. としょかんは　どこに　ありますか。
6. びょういんは　どこに　ありますか。
7. くつやは　どこに　ありますか。
8. ゆうびんきょくは　どこに　ありますか。
English:
1. Where is the pool? (うちの　ちかくに　あります。) It's close to (the) house.
2. Where is the school? (うちの　ちかくに　あります。) It's close to (the) house.
3. Where is the supermarket? (うちの　どころに　あります。) It's far from (the) house.
4. Where is the bakery? (うちの　ちかくに　あります。) It's close to (the) house.
5. Where is the library? (バンクの ちかくに　あります) It's close to (the) bank.
6. Where is the hospital? (うちの　どころに　あります。) It's far from (the) house.
7. Where is the shoe shop? (うちの　ちかくに　あります。) It's close to (the) house.
8. Where is the post office? (としょかんの ちかくに　あります。) It's close to (the) library.

So did I do it correctly?

Instead of always using ちかく, you can also use よこ (next to),　まえ (in front of/across), みぎ (right of), ひだり (left of)...

I see that in #1, you said "The pool is close to the house,"
and it's perfectly correct. It's fine.

Have they shown you the alternate way of saying it?
Like..."There is a pool close to the house"?

"Uchi no chikaku ni pool ga arimasu"?

Well, I wrote it in romaji so that you could see how it's broken down.

In order to tell the location of the pool, we can say it in one of two ways:

"The pool is near the house,"
"Pool wa uchi no chikaku ni arimasu."

or...."there is a pool near the house."
"Uchi no chikaku ni pool ga arimasu."

You see how in the second way,
we use the word "ga"?

We use GA when the sentence contradicts. And we use KARA when the sentence agrees.
(が) = GA [But]
(から) = KARA [Because]

This is a totally different way of using GA though.
GA can actually be used across multiple situations.
