Find the value of x. (Points : 2) 3 2 12 6

make a system of equations. 2x+3y=12 and 30x+11y=112. You can then solve for x or y in the terms of the other and plug it into the second equation.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You've got two equations in two unknowns. The indicated sides are equal, so \(2x+3y=12\) and the two indicated angles are equal, so \(112 = 30x + 11y\). Use elimination or substitution to solve for the value of \(x\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm so do i end up geting 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no x=3 y=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jsolon7 so i get 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaeahhhh!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o my gosh can u help me with more!?!

Find the value of y. (Points : 2) 24 24.8 132 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since those two sides are congruent you know that the two base angles (48 and y) are also congruent and that the upper angle (x in this case) are supplementary so 48+x=180 or x=132

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot to add that because those two sides are congruent it is a regular trapezoid which is why those laws apply to this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)
