the locus of points in a plane at a given distance from a given point is? 1 point one line a pair of lines a circle IS IT A CIRCLE?

Directrix (directrix):

Yes. Do you want to draw a diagram to be sure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats ok i just wanted a second opinion thank you!

Directrix (directrix):

Glad to provide a second opinion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this... is this also a circle? Rays and are noncollinear. What is the locus of points equidistant from BA and BC? the bisector of angle B a circle with center at B the perpendicular bisector of one line parallel to and one line parallel to

Directrix (directrix):

The names of the two rays did not show up: >>Rays and are ... What are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry! rays BA and BC

Directrix (directrix):

It is not a circle. On these locus problems, the best line of attack is to sketch a "suggestive" diagram that will suggest what the locus is. I'm about to do that here.
