Why are all three religions in the same region?
Because they sprouted from a very similar idea - the concept of Zoroastrianism, also called Mazdeism. This is the concept of a sharp contrast between light and dark, good and evil, life and afterlife. It is commonly attributed to a Persian figure called Zoroaster. The major world religions took on this concept. First Judaism, then Christianity (which sprouted from Judaism), and finally Islam. They're all very much indebted to Zoroastrianism. That's as far as I can remember from my philosophy classes, but please do consult a book on the topic if you want to be sure. I'm sure there's other reasons that are partially responsible for the fact why the three world religions come from the same center. After all, it was a major economic center where people from various continents met and changed ideas.
I'd also like to point out that these are not "all three religions" - but maybe you just formulated your question to quickly. There are many more religions, obviously. These are just some of the dominant religions. Christianity and Islam differ from Judaism in that they have a universal appeal - anyone can become part of the religion. Judaism, at least in origin, states that only the Jews are Gods chosen people.
