The graph below is represented by which system of inequalities? -4x + 2y 8 y < -x + 4 -4x + 2y < 8 y -x + 4 -4x + 2y 8 y > -x + 4 -4x + 2y > 8 y -x + 4

@SmokeysTheName

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

what are the signs after y for b and c

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

ahh not b and c i meant b and d. but i need the signs for a and c too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There all <= except for the 3rd one its >=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry thats wrong hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4+2y<=8 y<-x+4 same thing but the signs just swich -4+2y>=8 y>-x+4 same thing but the signs just swich

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

is that greater than or equal to? and less than or equal to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y > -x + 4

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

let me get @hartnn to help you because you're confusing me lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha ok

hartnn (hartnn):

first thing that needs to be done is to find the equation of those 2 lines , could you find it ? (though its clear seeing the options what would be the equations...)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4+2y<=8 y<-x+4

hartnn (hartnn):

the equations of line will be -4x+2y =8 y=-x+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

hartnn (hartnn):

now to know which inequality holds true, just select a point on the graph....the easiest one is origin (0,0) it lies on graph, so it must satisfy both the inequalities. so just put x=0, y=0 in your options/choices, and find out which inequality holds true...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
