Solve x divided by negative six is less than or equal to three for x. How would i solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean : solve for x, x/-6<= 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, x>= -18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me the steps on how to solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just one step, because you have the rule to solve the inequality. when you divide or multiply both sides by a negative number, you must flip the sign. if the sign is > in original problem, after calculate, it becomes < and backward. your problem is x/-6< = 3( less than or equal at original one) . I times (multiply) both sides by -6 (negative number,), the sign flip first become >= (bigger or equal). After counting, the left side is x, the right side is -18 hope this help
