identify the axis of symmetry for the graph of g(x)=5(x-2)^2 . Enter your answer as the following example: x=-1

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

That's just a parabola shifted by 2 units on the x axis. Decide which way, and you've got your answer.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this is the same as the last question you posted find the point of contact between the perfect square and the x - axis

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Hint: what value of x will make (x-2) = 0, converting it to be 5x^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh , its confusing

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Well, if you had the graph h(x) = 5x^2, you can identify the axis of symmetry easily by graphing a few points. g(x) = 5(x-2)^2 is the same graph, but shifted by 2 units in x because of that -2.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok...so here is the graph|dw:1359878061489:dw|
