American Japanese intermittent camps..How did they affect america as a whole? I just need examples and exlpanation
Help! please
The word is internment, not intermittent. In spite of history that is, to some degree, being rewritten I say little effect, if any. They were well fed, clothed, and educated. The program was absolutely essential for our protection as well as theirs. During the darkest days of the war, news of U.S. losses due to ships being sunk or losses because of murderous island campaigns were commonplace. Putting aside the prospect of spy activities, those things alone were a recipe for riot in our big cities. They needed our protection, and we needed to protect ourselves from them. This is not much use to you in terms of how we were affected, but at least it gives you a little insight into how one who is nearly seventy years old reflects upon it. Good luck with your research.
