what are exotic species and why do they thrive in their environment.Give examples

An "exotic species" is a species of organisms that is foreign to a certain area. That means that it is not native to the area. It doesn't naturally belong there. The thing about exotic species of organisms is that they have no natural predators. For example, meerkats naturally live in the desert. But if we take a meerkat, and put it in the jungle, then it would be considered an "exotic species," because the jungle is not its natural habitat. And in the jungle, there may not be any animals that want to eat meerkats. That's why the meerkat would thrive. No natural predators.
