I can't do the arcsin of 1.17 on my calc or google... Please help!

OpenStudy (radar):

I don't believe the sin function can exceed 1 (sin 90 degrees is 1) it ranges from -1 to +1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ya, sorry about that, very tired right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, then can you help me with this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The given measurements may or may not determine a triangle. If not, then state that no triangle is formed. If a triangle is formed, then use the Law of Sines to solve the triangle, if it is possible, or state that the Law of Sines cannot be used. C = 38°, a = 19, c = 10

OpenStudy (radar):

Let me see what my calculator does when I do that>>> I also get an error. smart calculators lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (radar):

O.K I am looking at the problem now.

OpenStudy (radar):

Using the law of sines you will be able to solve for angle A, if it is a legitmate triangle. I do have to run.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thanks.

OpenStudy (radar):

It is not a legitimate triangle as the sin A exceeds 1/
