Can someone give me a step by step Graphing Quadratic Equations Form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just get a grid. make a x,y T table |dw:1360036178869:dw| And start plotting. THe more points the better and just draw a smooth fitting curve. And there is always google. Just paste an expression without the y= for example x^2

Well first, you got to move everything to one side so that it equals zero or you have to make y equal to zero. After that, you have to factorise and find the x-intercepts. If you can't factorise it, then you have to use the quadratic formula to find the x-intercepts. Then once you've done that, you have to find the y-intercept. That would mean you have to make x equal to zero.

Afterwards, you can determine whether it is concave up or concave down. If it's concave up the coefficient of x^2 is positive. If the coefficient of x^2 is negative, then you know the curve is concave down. Then once you've done that, just run down a parabolic curve shape making sure you pass through those critical points.

I find the 1-3-5.. method easier ( http://mathpodcasts.blogspot.com/2008/12/parabolas-episode-6-using-135-pattern.html ) than finding the coordinates for all the x coordinates, but that's just me.

If you can't do that, then just do what @timo86m told you. That's probably the best way to sketch a curve if you're unsure of anything.

Note: if you do check the link and know what the a, b, and c are in the quadratic equation, you can skip to 4:11
